Care for the hens, the garden, and the ground

Under the Sun Farm is a small farm where eggs are gathered and produce is grown with close attention to animals, ingredients, and place.

Her hens eat only organic feed and have daily access to pasture. In the garden, she uses biodynamic and organic practices, working with natural systems and adding varied organic material to build topsoil instead of using it up. The aim is healthier soil and a farm that makes room for local biodiversity.

Biodynamic organic practice

Build the ground that feeds the garden

Good produce begins before the seed. Liz builds topsoil with varied organic material and works with the farm’s natural systems so the soil is improved by a growing season, not depleted by it.
